Outdoor Kitchen Rotisserie Chicken Recipe
There’s nothing quite like cooking and eating outside under the stars with family and friends — especially when you’re sharing a meal that makes mouths and leaves everyone asking for the recipe.
Well, this recipe is a sure-fire hit. We’ve tried it, loved it, and come back to it again and again for succulent chicken that you enjoy on its own with grilled sides, piled high on hoagie buns, layered with leafy greens for a hearty salad — pretty much any way you can imagine!
Best of all, it’s easy. And if you have an outdoor grill with a rotisserie attachment like the one on the Fusion Flame Outdoor Kitchen, you can have it prepped and cooked in no time.
Easy Rotisserie Chicken
- 1 whole chicken
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ tsp thyme
- ½ tsp rosemary
- Fusion Flame Outdoor Kitchen
- Rotisserie attachment
- Meat thermometer
- Prep the Chicken: Start by removing any giblets from the chicken and patting it dry with paper towels. This ensures your seasonings stick well and help form a delicious crust.
- Season Generously: In a small bowl, mix paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, thyme, and rosemary. Rub the outside of the chicken with the olive oil, then season with the spice mixture.
- Preheat Your Fusion Flame Grill: Fire up your outdoor kitchen's grill, setting it to a medium heat (around 350°F).
- Cook the Chicken: Place and secure the chicken on the rotisserie rod and start it rotating.
- Monitor and Baste: Cook the chicken for about 20 minutes per pound. During cooking, brush it with a bit more olive oil to keep it moist.
- Check for Doneness: The chicken is done when its internal temperature reaches 165°F. Check by inserting a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the thigh.
- Rest and Serve: Once the chicken has reached the ideal temperature, turn off the heat and let it rotate for 15 minutes with no heat.
- Enjoy Your Meal: Serve your rotisserie chicken with sides of your choice — perhaps some grilled vegetables or a fresh salad, all prepared in your Fusion Flame Outdoor Kitchen.
