What to expect when adding Assembly Services
Dear Valued Customer,
We are thrilled that you have chosen Backyard Discovery for your new outdoor product and installation. We want to ensure a smooth and successful installation process for you and your family. Please take a moment to review the following important information and requirements:
1. Simple scheduling process and communication: Upon receiving your installation request, your local assembly team will contact you within 48 business hours to review your order and begin your scheduling process. If you do not hear from your assembly team please call 800-856-4445. In select areas delivery and installation may occur at the same time and we will inform you if that is the case. Weather and seasonal spikes may delay your installation, but we will over communicate with you if this occurs, so you are able to plan accordingly. You will receive a reminder call the morning of your scheduled installation.
2. Delivery of item: We will keep you posted on the estimated delivery of your item. However, delivery is handled by a third-party freight company. If you hear from the delivery company, and when your product is delivered, please let us know.
3. Product Boxes: Please do not unbox your items prior to the installation technician’s arrival. Our technicians will need to take inventory of the parts and hardware, as well as obtain the assembly manual from the packaging so we ask that you leave them unopened until our team arrives.
4. Level Ground: To ensure the safety and stability of your item, please ensure that the ground where the item will be installed is solid and level. A level surface is crucial for the proper anchoring and safety of the product. Leveling is the customer’s responsibility. If the ground has not been leveled the technician has the right to refuse the assembly at that time.
5. Clearing Around and Above the Playset: Select an area that is free from obstacles. There must be an obstacle free safety zone that is at least 6 feet around and above the playset. This safety requirement ensures that there is adequate space for safe play and prevents any potential hazards.
6. Clear Path to Installation Site: Please ensure there is a clear path from the point of product delivery to the installation site. This will help our installation team work efficiently and safely.
7. Pets and Children: Please ensure that pets and children are not present while the installation is taking place.
8. Anchoring your item: A playset includes anchoring materials in the box. It's important to use these provided anchors to secure your playset. Proper anchoring enhances safety and stability. We will anchor your playset. However, you are responsible for marking and ensuring that any underground items are not damaged. This includes utilities, sprinklers, and lighting. Gazebos, Pergolas, and other items have anchoring options. There will be an additional charge, paid directly to the assembly team, for this anchoring. Some materials may have risks associated with anchoring. This includes concrete, steppingstones, and decorative tile. Your assembly team will outline your options. The assembly team will anchor your unit in the best possible method. However, they are not responsible for risks associated with anchoring, such as cracked or split stones.
9. Protective surfacing: If you chose to put down protective surfacing such as mulch, you should only add the protective surfacing after your play set is fully installed and anchored.
10. Adult Presence and Authorization: An individual who is at least 18 years old and has the authority to authorize the product's placement must be present during the installation. This ensures that the installation is carried out according to your preferences.
11. Weather and Conditions of the Installation Site: The temperature typically needs to be at least 40 degrees on the installation date. Also, we may need to reschedule due to rain or unfavorable ground conditions.
12. Cancellation and Missed Appointment Policy: If you need to cancel your installation appointment, please provide a minimum of 48 hours' notice. Failure to do so or a missed appointment will result in an additional service fee.
13. Packaging Material and Debris Placement: Our installation technician will place any packaging materials and debris in the location on your property that you specify. These materials will not be taken away by the technician. Please guide them on where you'd like these items to be left.
14. 30-Day Workmanship Warranty: We are proud to offer a 30-day warranty on the workmanship of your product installation. If you encounter any issues related to the installation within this period, please contact us, and we will address your concerns promptly.
